Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Cesar worked for Zephyr Management LP, Nexxus Capital, and co-founded a financial and private equity advisory firm in Mexico. Cesar has extensive experience of investing in Mexico and has worked in private equity for more than 15 years.

 

Cesar holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Prior to joining IFC in 2012, Sebastian was Managing Director with Pinebridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments) starting its operations in Mexico. Over his 25 years of private equity experience in Latin America, Sebastian actively participated in 24 transactions, 17 exits, and served as a Board Member of several portfolio companies, realizing a 2.6x return to investors.

 

Sebastian was a Professor of Economics and Economic History for nine years; holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina and a Post-Graduate Degree in Finance from the Universidad Torcuato DiTella in Buenos Aires.

Laura Vila

Laura Vila

Senior Investment Officer, China-Mexico Fund

Laura is a Senior Investment Officer of the China-Mexico Fund and is primarily responsible for the Oil and Gas program of the Fund. Before joining the Fund’s team, she spent five years in IFC’s Mexico office where she led business development efforts, in particular in telecommunications and oil and gas, and worked in equity and debt transactions in sectors such as financial markets, private equity and manufacturing.

 

Laura joined IFC in 2005 and before coming to Mexico in 2010, she worked in the Portfolio Management and the Equity department. Before IFC, Laura worked for 5 years at the Central Bank of Colombia in the international reserves department. Overall, she has over 15 years of experience in finance, including portfolio and risk management, FX and fixed income trading, market research and debt and equity transactions.

 

She holds a Master in Financial Engineering and a Master in Applied Economics from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has conversational skills in Italian and Portuguese.

Marco Hernandez

Marco Hernandez

Senior Investment Manager, China-Mexico Fund

Marco Hernandez is an Investment Officer at the China-Mexico Fund; he has 10 years of experience in banking. Marco joined the CMF team from IFC, where he spent four and a half years with the Financial Institutions Group originating transactions and managing a portfolio of both debt and equity in Mexico and Central America. His prior experience includes positions in corporate and investment banking in Scotiabank and Citibanamex, based in Mexico City.

Marco holds a Master of Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), at the University of Delhi, India, dual Bachelor Degrees in accounting and management from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and a number of certificates and diplomas in market finance, consulting, sales management, and Islamic finance. He was awarded an ITEC scholarship from the Government of India and is an associate of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI).

Pierre Lambert

Pierre Lambert

Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Pierre was an Investment Officer at Proparco where he was responsible for sourcing and executing investments in the energy, infrastructure and financial sectors in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Pierre started his career at Standard Bank in London, where he focused on transactions in telecommunications, media and technology in Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

Pierre holds a dual MA/MSc. from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris in Finance, Strategy, and International Political Economy.

Nicolas  Jaramillo

Prior to joining AMC in November 2016, Nicolás was an Investment Analyst in IFC´s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) based in Panama City. Prior to that, he was FIG´s Consultant and Investment Analyst for the Andean region based in Bogota.

 

Nicolás holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), with a Minor in Business Administration. He is a CFA level II candidate.

Alejandro Gonzalez Morgado

Analyst,

Prior to joining AMC in 2016, Alejandro worked at IFC Public Private Partnerships Transactions Advisory, where he advised governments in Mexico and Central America in the structuring of infrastructure projects with private sector participation.

 

Alejandro holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Mexican Autonomous Technological Institute (“ITAM”) and different diplomas in Project Finance, Infrastructure and Project Management.
