Prior to joining AMC in 2009, Gavin was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs International in London, where he was Co-Head of the firm’s EMEA Industrials Group and Head of the New Markets investment banking execution team. Gavin began his career at McKinsey and Company before joining the World Bank Group in 1988, working in Africa for the Bank and in IFC’s investment and advisory businesses.

 

Gavin holds a BA from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Stanford University.

Prior to joining AMC in 2009, Ruth was Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of Lehman Brothers’ private equity business. She was also a member of Lehman Brothers’ Fund-of-Funds Investment Committee. Ruth has more than 20 years’ investment banking experience,including roles in equity capital markets and debt capital markets.

 

Ruth holds a BA from Barnard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bosworth joined AMC in 2011 to establish and build out the Client Relations team. He began his emerging markets career at IFC in 1992 focusing on debt and equity transactions, primarily in Latin America. Subsequently he was a Managing Director at EMP Global, investing a $1 billion Latin American infrastructure fund.

 

Bosworth holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Birmingham and an MBA from London Business School.

Prior to joining IFC, Tim was an international economist with the US Treasury Department. He has more than 25 years of experience investing in emerging markets and specializes in financial sector investments.

 

Tim is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame, and an MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Jun joined AMC in 2010 as a Senior Associate with the IFC Capitalization Fund. Previously, Jun was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division at JPMorgan in Tokyo and an Investment Officer in the Global Financial Markets Department of IFC. Jun also worked in the Investment Banking Division at Deutsche Bank and at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

 

Jun holds a BA in Political Science from Waseda University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

George holds a BEd from the University of Nairobi, a CPA from Strathmore University, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining AMC in 2010, Viktor was one of the principal members of the IFC Infrastructure Investment team, focusing on investments in energy, transport, and utilities. Viktor has worked in emerging markets for 20 years and has been investing in infrastructure for the last 15 years. He was also responsible for raising more than $2 billion for AMC funds.

 

Viktor has an MSc in Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Electronics and an MBA from INSEAD.

Darius joined the World Bank in 1986, moved to IFC in 1989, and joined AMC in November 2012 as the Head of the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund.  At IFC, Darius was Global Head of Equity for the Infrastructure, Natural Resources sectors and headed IFC’s Global Power and Renewable Energy team.

 

Darius holds a BCom from St Xavier College, Kolkata, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining AMC in 2010, Reyaz spent 23 years at IFC with responsibility for a wide range of investments and transaction advisory work. From 2003, he headed the team handling investments globally in renewable energy supply chains.  Prior to IFC, Reyaz worked at the Boston Consulting Group, SG Warburg Securities, and Courtaulds plc.

 

Reyaz holds a BA and MA in Engineering and Economics from Queens’ College, Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Prior to joining AMC in 2011, Colin was a Partner with the London-based private equity firm Duke Street, an Equity Research Analyst for Celfin in Santiago, Chile (now BTG Pactual), and an investment banker with Morgan Stanley. Colin’s career in private equity and investment banking spans more than 20 years.

 

Colin holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Cesar worked for Zephyr Management LP, Nexxus Capital, and co-founded a financial and private equity advisory firm in Mexico. Cesar has extensive experience of investing in Mexico and has worked in private equity for more than 15 years.

 

Cesar holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Prior to joining AMC in 2014, Bassel was the CEO of Bank Audi Syria, the country’s largest private lender. Before Bank Audi, he spent 14 years with IFC in Washington, DC and Cairo, and was in charge of a number of direct investments in the Mashreq and GCC sub-regions. Bassel holds an MBA in International Finance and a BBA in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

In a career spanning more than 25 years he has been Managing Director of Infrastructure Investments and co-CEO of the SCI Asia Fund, Head of M&A at InterGen Asia, and Head of Energy & Power at Goldman Sachs Asia.

Prior to that, she spent a decade as a Vice President in J.P. Morgan Investment Bank, managing communications for five business lines.

 

Mame holds a BA in Economics from McGill University and a Masters in International Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Sheref is a CPA and holds a BA from Addis Ababa University and an MBA from California University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining AMC in 2011, Abe was an Investment Accounting Manager at Contour Global, where he was responsible for partnership accounting, investor reporting, and annual budgeting. Abe has previously worked for The Carlyle Group, American Capital, Ltd. and SEI Investments in various supervisory positions.

 

Abe is a Certified Public Accountant, not in public practice, and holds a BSc, Magna Cum Laude, double majoring in Mathematics and Finance, from Greensboro College and an MSc in Finance from Temple University.

Zulfiqar joined AMC in 2014 after working in IFC’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources team.  Prior to IFC, Zulfiqar was a Principal at Abraaj Capital, where he worked on the landmark Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) transaction and was a senior member of the Abraaj management team for KESC. Previously, Zulfiqar spent 12 years with Citigroup in Project Finance and Risk Management.

 

Zulfiqar holds a BA degree from Vassar College and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Prior to joining IFC in 2012, Sebastian was Managing Director with Pinebridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments) starting its operations in Mexico. Over his 25 years of private equity experience in Latin America, Sebastian actively participated in 24 transactions, 17 exits, and served as a Board Member of several portfolio companies, realizing a 2.6x return to investors.

 

Sebastian was a Professor of Economics and Economic History for nine years; holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina and a Post-Graduate Degree in Finance from the Universidad Torcuato DiTella in Buenos Aires.

Htet Htet is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Washington and Lee University. She completed the CFA exams and is in the process of obtaining her charter.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Amira was at Export Development Canada, where she provided financing and advisory services for Canadian corporations expanding internationally.

 

Amira holds an MBA with distinction from Columbia Business School and the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University.

Mao joined AMC in June 2016 as Senior Counsel with the Legal team. Prior to joining AMC, Mao was of counsel at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP in Beijing, representing venture capital and private equity investors in their investment transactions, as well as startups and emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycles. Prior to joining Gunderson, Mao was a partner at RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP and Withers KhattarWong LLP in Singapore, advising companies and investors in their cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and corporate partnering transactions, as well as issuers and sponsors in initial public offerings, reverse take-overs, tender offers and other capital markets transactions.

 

Mao holds a LL.B. from Renmin University of China, a LL.M. (Sheridan Fellow) from National University of Singapore, and a LL.M. (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) from Columbia Law School.  He is qualified to practice in New York.

Tatiana joined AMC in April 2013 as part of the AMC Fund of Funds Group. Prior to joining AMC, Tatiana worked on emerging market private equity fund investments at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Inter-American Development Bank.  Her responsibilities included due diligence, manager selection, investments, portfolio monitoring, reporting, business development, and market research, with a broad geographic focus on emerging markets in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and CEE/CIS.  Previously, she worked at MSCI, a provider of benchmark indices and risk analytics products.

 

Tatiana holds a BA from Smith College, and a Masters degree in International Finance and Policy from Columbia University.  She passed the CFA Level II exam.

He has previously worked at the Caisse de Dépot et Placement de Québec (CDPQ) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). He was Head of the Private Equity team at the World Bank Group Pension Fund and has been Senior Advisor to the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA).

He initiated a new Transition Fund and managed Jim Kim’s transition as the new World Bank Group President. Navtej has previously worked with Jim Wolfensohn in various advisory and economic research roles.

 

Navtej has a BSc in Business Management from King’s College London and an MA in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

Onur holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering with Certificates in Operations Research and Germanic Languages from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School with Highest Distinction (Baker Scholar). He is a CFA charter holder.

Alejandro holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Mexican Autonomous Technological Institute (“ITAM”) and different diplomas in Project Finance, Infrastructure and Project Management.

Natalie spent six years in Enron International’s Global M&A group and returned to IFC in 2003, where she spent 10 years in IFC’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources Department.

 

Natalie holds a BA in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Wharton School.

Marco Hernandez is an Investment Officer at the China-Mexico Fund; he has 10 years of experience in banking. Marco joined the CMF team from IFC, where he spent four and a half years with the Financial Institutions Group originating transactions and managing a portfolio of both debt and equity in Mexico and Central America. His prior experience includes positions in corporate and investment banking in Scotiabank and Citibanamex, based in Mexico City.

Marco holds a Master of Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), at the University of Delhi, India, dual Bachelor Degrees in accounting and management from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and a number of certificates and diplomas in market finance, consulting, sales management, and Islamic finance. He was awarded an ITEC scholarship from the Government of India and is an associate of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI).

Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Elena was a Compliance Coordinator and Anti-Money Laundering specialist at the Carlyle Group where she focused on due-diligence and regulatory compliance for the firm’s limited purpose Broker Dealer. Previously, Elena worked with Hagen Resources International, a social and economic consulting firm based in Geneva, Switzerland.

He has also worked extensively in Korea, where he worked for seven years as an Investment Manager in the Alternative Investment Division of the Hanwha Life Insurance.  He started his career as a prop trader for stock trading and has also worked in other firms within the Korean financial industry.

 

He holds a Master of Science in Finance from the Manchester Business School in the UK and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from SungKyunKwan University in Korea (Double Degree).

Yue Joined AMC in February 2016 as an Operations Associate. Prior to joining AMC, Yue was a Portfolio Officer in the IFC Valuation team that oversees valuation of IFC equity, derivatives, debt securities and other fair valued instruments. Yue has extensive experience in assets valuation, as well as portfolio management of private equity funds and financial institutions. Yue was instrumental in developing IFC’s valuation guidelines for private equity funds. Yue also has four years of experience investing in emerging markets.

Adam joined IFC in 2001 in Vietnam and has worked in Asia ever since, joining AMC in November 2015. He relocated to Singapore with AMC from Colombo, where he was the country manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives. From 2007 to 2011, Adam was the country manager for Indonesia and prior to that, he lived and worked in Vietnam and Cambodia running IFC's Advisory programs in the Mekong. Adam started his career at J.P. Morgan in London in M&A and structured finance, and left with two colleagues to start a European private equity fund in the early 1990s.

 

He has an MSc in development studies and a BA in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University.

Laura is a Senior Investment Officer of the China-Mexico Fund and is primarily responsible for the Oil and Gas program of the Fund. Before joining the Fund’s team, she spent five years in IFC’s Mexico office where she led business development efforts, in particular in telecommunications and oil and gas, and worked in equity and debt transactions in sectors such as financial markets, private equity and manufacturing.

 

Laura joined IFC in 2005 and before coming to Mexico in 2010, she worked in the Portfolio Management and the Equity department. Before IFC, Laura worked for 5 years at the Central Bank of Colombia in the international reserves department. Overall, she has over 15 years of experience in finance, including portfolio and risk management, FX and fixed income trading, market research and debt and equity transactions.

 

She holds a Master in Financial Engineering and a Master in Applied Economics from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has conversational skills in Italian and Portuguese.
