Marcos Brujis has been the CEO of IFC Asset Management Company LLC (AMC) since November 2017. A wholly owned subsidiary of IFC, AMC raises and manages third-party capital, for investment in IFC member countries.

 

Prior to his current position, Marcos was IFC’s Global Industry Director since 2014, overseeing all IFC’s investments in financial markets around the world. Under his leadership, the area more than trebled its climate business, grew its gender portfolio exponentially to over $1 billion, and increased its footprint in the world’s poorest countries.

 

Marcos, a Peruvian national, was one of the founding executives of AMC. He served as Head of the US$3 billion IFC Capitalization Fund and played a central role in AMC’s fund-raising efforts around the globe.

 

Before joining IFC, Marcos was the Executive Director of Institutional Banking at HSBC Argentina. In 1994, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of the Argentina Private Development Trust, a successful private equity fund focused on privatizations. Marcos was a board member, founder and key fundraiser of the Peru Privatization Fund (PPF), a $200 million fund originated in 1995 in which IFC participated.

 

Marcos is an industrial engineer with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from McGill University, Canada.

Ruth is Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer of AMC. She joined AMC at the start of its operations in 2009, and she is responsible for the strategy and operations of the business. She sits on the investment committees for all funds.

 

Before joining AMC, Ruth spent more than 20 years at Lehman Brothers, including roles in private equity, investment banking, and debt and equity capital markets. Ruth was a Managing Director and the Chief Administrative Officer of Lehman Brothers’ private equity business and a member of Lehman Brothers’ Fund of Funds Investment Committee. Before joining Lehman’s private equity business, Ruth was a senior vice president in investment banking working on strategy and business planning, a senior vice president and chief administrative officer of its Equity Research department, and a vice president of its Equity Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets departments.

 

Ruth holds a BA from Barnard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bosworth joined AMC in 2011 to establish and build out the Client Relations team. He began his emerging markets career at IFC in 1992 focusing on debt and equity transactions, primarily in Latin America. Subsequently he was a Managing Director at EMP Global, investing a $1 billion Latin American infrastructure fund.

 

Bosworth holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Birmingham and an MBA from London Business School.

Prior to joining IFC, Tim was an international economist with the US Treasury Department. He has more than 25 years of experience investing in emerging markets and specializes in financial sector investments.

 

Tim is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame, and an MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Jun joined AMC in 2010 as a Senior Investment Manager with the IFC Capitalization Fund. Previously, Jun was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division at JPMorgan in Tokyo and an Investment Officer in the Financial Institutions Group of IFC. Jun also worked in the Investment Banking Division at Deutsche Bank and at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.  Jun is based in AMC's Singapore office.

 

Jun holds a BA in Political Science from Waseda University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Before joining the AMC in 2009, George was an IFC Principal Investment Officer covering financial institutions, industrials and infrastructure in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the former Soviet Union. Earlier, he held senior corporate finance positions with the East African affiliates of Hoechst AG, Williams Holdings plc, and UB Group, focusing on corporate acquisitions and divestitures.

 

George holds a BEd from the University of Nairobi, a CPA from Strathmore University, and an MBA (Thomas Jefferson Fellow) from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining AMC in 2010, Viktor was one of the principal members of the IFC Infrastructure Investment team, focusing on investments in energy, transport, and utilities. Viktor has worked in emerging markets for 20 years and has been investing in infrastructure for the last 15 years. He was also responsible for raising more than $2 billion for AMC funds.

 

Viktor has an MSc in Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Electronics and an MBA from INSEAD.

Darius joined the World Bank in 1986, moved to IFC in 1989, and joined AMC in November 2012 as the Head of the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund.  At IFC, Darius was Global Head of Equity for the Infrastructure, Natural Resources sectors and headed IFC’s Global Power and Renewable Energy team.

 

Darius holds a BCom from St Xavier College, Kolkata, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Reyaz A. Ahmad

Prior to joining AMC in 2010, Reyaz spent 23 years at IFC with responsibility for a wide range of investments and transaction advisory work. From 2003, he headed the team handling investments globally in renewable energy supply chains.  Prior to IFC, Reyaz worked at the Boston Consulting Group, SG Warburg Securities, and Courtaulds plc.

 

Reyaz holds a BA and MA in Engineering and Economics from Queens’ College, Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Prior to joining AMC in 2011, Colin was a Partner with the London-based private equity firm Duke Street, an Equity Research Analyst for Celfin in Santiago, Chile (now BTG Pactual), and an investment banker with Morgan Stanley. Colin’s career in private equity and investment banking spans more than 20 years.

Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Cesar worked for Zephyr Management LP, Nexxus Capital, and co-founded a financial and private equity advisory firm in Mexico. Cesar has extensive experience of investing in Mexico and has worked in private equity for more than 15 years.

 

Cesar holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Prior to joining AMC in 2014, Bassel was the CEO of Bank Audi Syria, the country’s largest private lender. Before Bank Audi, he spent 14 years with IFC in Washington, DC and Cairo, and was in charge of a number of direct investments in the Mashreq and GCC sub-regions.

 

Bassel holds an MBA in International Finance and a BBA in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Ms. Khairi moved from IFC to AMC in October 2014 to raise and manage the IFC Emerging Asia Fund. Ms. Khairi joined IFC in 2010, as the Chief Risk Officer for the corporation. In that role, she managed 140 people and oversaw IFC’s US$84 billion balance sheet, including a US$12.9 billion equity portfolio. Immediately before joining IFC, Ms. Khairi was the Chief Investment Officer of Manara Equity Partners based in Bahrain, managing the $460 million Manara Infrastructure Fund. Ms. Khairi’ prior experience includes 23 years with Citigroup in London, New York, Karachi, Hong Kong and Dubai. Her Citibank assignments included oil and gas, equity sourcing, project finance, risk management, portfolio management and private banking.

 

Ms. Khairi holds an MBA degree from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sussex in the U.K.

Andrew joined AMC in December 2014. Prior to this, he spent seven years at Standard Chartered Bank’s Private Equity Business, first as Global Head of Infrastructure and then Global Co-Head of Energy Resources and Infrastructure.  He was also Co-CEO of the SCI Asia Fund. Andrew has more than twenty five years of experience including as Head of M&A at InterGen Asia and prior to that as Head of Power and Energy at Goldman Sachs Asia.

 

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of New South Wales in Australia.

Prior to joining IFC in 1995, George was a Partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, a New York-based law firm.

Before joining AMC in 2018, Elizabeth managed communications and investor relations for two sustainable- and impact-focused funds, Global Environment Fund and Terra Alpha Investments. She also established and led World Resources Institute’s sustainable investment program; and, before that, guided public and private sector clients in evaluation of alternative energy technologies at Booz Allen Hamilton.

 

Elizabeth holds an AB in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Zulfiqar joined AMC in 2014 after working in IFC’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources team.  Prior to IFC, Zulfiqar was a Principal at Abraaj Capital, where he worked on the landmark Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) transaction and was a senior member of the Abraaj management team for KESC. Previously, Zulfiqar spent 12 years with Citigroup in Project Finance and Risk Management.

 

Zulfiqar holds a BA degree from Vassar College and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Prior to joining IFC in 2012, Sebastian was Managing Director with Pinebridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments) starting its operations in Mexico. Over his 25 years of private equity experience in Latin America, Sebastian actively participated in 24 transactions, 17 exits, and served as a Board Member of several portfolio companies, realizing a 2.6x return to investors.

 

Sebastian was a Professor of Economics and Economic History for nine years; holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina and a Post-Graduate Degree in Finance from the Universidad Torcuato DiTella in Buenos Aires.

William Arnold

Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at Citigroup in New York, where he was a member of the Global Energy Group.

Previously, Deepali was with Peregrine Capital Limited’s IPOs and M&A team in Hong Kong and Mumbai.

 

Deepali holds a BCom degree from the Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Prior to joining AMC, Amira was an Assistant Vice President with Citigroup in New York, where she focused on emerging market private equity investments. Prior to joining Citigroup, Amira was at Export Development Canada, where she provided financing and advisory services for Canadian corporations expanding internationally.

 

Amira holds an MBA with distinction from Columbia Business School and the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University.

Steve returned to AMC in 2014 as part of the ALAC Fund team, after a two-year hiatus to obtain his MBA. Prior to joining ALAC, Steve worked as an analyst at AMC from 2010 to 2012. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group.

Prior to joining AMC, Tatiana worked on private equity fund investments at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Inter-American Development Bank.  Her responsibilities included due diligence, manager selection, investments, portfolio monitoring, reporting, business development, and market research across emerging markets in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and CEE/CIS.  Previously, she worked at MSCI, a provider of benchmark indices and risk analytics products.

 

Tatiana holds a BA from Smith College, and a Masters degree in International Finance and Policy from Columbia University.  She is a CFA Charterholder.

Prior to joining AMC in 2015, Serge was pursuing advisory work through his firm MontréAlt Capital, Inc. He has previously worked at the Caisse de Dépot et Placement de Québec (CDPQ) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). He was Head of the Private Equity team at the World Bank Group Pension Fund and has been Senior Advisor to the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA). 

 

Serge holds a Baccalauréat in Economics from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Prior to joining AMC in 2014, Navtej was a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Treasury, working on financial challenges in emerging markets. He initiated a new Transition Fund and managed Jim Kim’s transition as the new World Bank Group President. Navtej has previously worked with Jim Wolfensohn in various advisory and economic research roles.

 

Navtej has a BSc in Business Management from King’s College London and an MA in International Relations from the London School of Economics. 

Inderbir Singh Dhingra

Inderbir joined AMC in 2015. He has more than 19 years of experience in private equity and debt investments, equity research, and public policy. Prior to joining AMC, Inderbir held various positions in the Financial Institutions Group at IFC, including managing the South Asia portfolio and subsequently leading the direct equity investments across Asia Pacific. He has also worked at the World Bank in providing financial and advisory assistance to national and provincial governments in India and East Africa in the areas of SME financing, Infrastructure PPPs, Innovation Policy and Investment Climate. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Inderbir served as a Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) and Deutsche Bank, leading their Equities Research for the Pharmaceuticals, Telecom Services & Equipment, and Media sectors based in Mumbai.  He has published papers on Investment Climate in India, Infrastructure Finance, Public Private Partnership units, and Enhancing Innovation Finance through seed and early stage venture capital funding.

 

Inderbir holds an MBA equivalent from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, a Bachelors in Commerce (Honors) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Indian Chartered Financial Analyst Institute.

Eduardo joined AMC in 2012 as part of the ALAC Fund team. Prior to joining AMC, Eduardo worked in IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services department. Eduardo has also worked in the corporate finance divisions of KPMG and Deutsche Bank.

Prior to joining AMC in 2013, Onur was an Executive Director at Swicorp Private Equity, a Director in Deutsche Bank’s Illiquid Finance team, and held various investment banking advisory roles at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. 

 

Onur holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering with Certificates in Operations Research and Germanic Languages from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School with Highest Distinction (Baker Scholar). He is a CFA charter holder.

Marco Hernandez is an Investment Officer at the China-Mexico Fund; he has 10 years of experience in banking. Marco joined the CMF team from IFC, where he spent four and a half years with the Financial Institutions Group originating transactions and managing a portfolio of both debt and equity in Mexico and Central America. His prior experience includes positions in corporate and investment banking in Scotiabank and Citibanamex, based in Mexico City.

 

Marco holds a Master of Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), at the University of Delhi, India, dual Bachelor Degrees in accounting and management from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and a number of certificates and diplomas in market finance, consulting, sales management, and Islamic finance. He was awarded an ITEC scholarship from the Government of India and is an associate of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI).

Prior to joining AMC in November 2016, Nicolás was an Investment Analyst in IFC´s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) based in Panama City. Prior to that, he was FIG´s Consultant and Investment Analyst for the Andean region based in Bogota.

 

Nicolás holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), with a Minor in Business Administration. He is a CFA level II candidate.

Etleva joined AMC in 2011 as a Senior Associate with the ALAC Fund and was promoted to Principal in 2013. Prior to joining AMC, Etleva was a Senior Investment Officer in IFC’s Global Financial Markets Department, and also worked at Deloitte and a German textile company.

Prior to IFC, Kanika was with Goldman Sachs’s Investment Banking Division in London, as a part of the Global Natural Resources team covering European clients in energy, metals & mining, and oil field services sectors.

Yue Joined AMC in February 2016 as an Operations Associate. Prior to joining AMC, Yue was a Portfolio Officer in the IFC Valuation team that oversees valuation of IFC equity, derivatives, debt securities and other fair valued instruments. Yue has extensive experience in assets valuation, as well as portfolio management of private equity funds and financial institutions. Yue was instrumental in developing IFC’s valuation guidelines for private equity funds. Yue also has four years of experience investing in emerging markets.

 

Yue holds a MA in Public Finance from University of Maryland and a BA/MA in Public Policy and Economics from Peking University (China).

Prior to joining AMC, Yu Jin was an Analyst based in Singapore at Partners Group AG, where he focused on buyout and minority growth private equity transactions in the business and financial services sector. Prior to joining Partners Group, he worked at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, where he provided trade finance solutions to corporate clients.

Adam joined IFC in 2001 in Vietnam and has worked in Asia ever since, joining AMC in November 2015. He relocated to Singapore with AMC from Colombo, where he was the country manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives. From 2007 to 2011, Adam was the country manager for Indonesia and prior to that, he lived and worked in Vietnam and Cambodia running IFC's Advisory programs in the Mekong. Adam started his career at J.P. Morgan in London in M&A and structured finance, and left with two colleagues to start a European private equity fund in the early 1990s.

 

He has an MSc in development studies and a BA in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University.

Laura is a Senior Investment Officer of the China-Mexico Fund and is primarily responsible for the Oil and Gas program of the Fund. Before joining the Fund’s team, she spent five years in IFC’s Mexico office where she led business development efforts, in particular in telecommunications and oil and gas, and worked in equity and debt transactions in sectors such as financial markets, private equity and manufacturing.

 

Laura joined IFC in 2005 and before coming to Mexico in 2010, she worked in the Portfolio Management and the Equity department. Before IFC, Laura worked for 5 years at the Central Bank of Colombia in the international reserves department. Overall, she has over 15 years of experience in finance, including portfolio and risk management, FX and fixed income trading, market research and debt and equity transactions.

 

She holds a Master in Financial Engineering and a Master in Applied Economics from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has conversational skills in Italian and Portuguese.

Prior to joining Gunderson, Mao was a partner at RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP and Withers KhattarWong LLP in Singapore, advising companies and investors in their cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and corporate partnering transactions, as well as issuers and sponsors in initial public offerings, reverse take-overs, tender offers and other capital markets transactions.

Prior to joining AMC in 2016, Lisa was Lead Counsel at the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), advising on fund and direct equity and debt investments across Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, Lisa held roles in London and Buenos Aires at Actis, CDC and Morrison & Foerster.

 

Lisa holds a BA in History and Spanish from University of Virginia, and a JD from Emory University School of Law. She is qualified in New York and England.

Prior to joining AMC in 2011, Mona was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP in London advising institutional and boutique sponsors of private equity investment funds in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, including leveraged buyout funds, emerging markets funds, fund of funds and mezzanine funds.

 

Mona holds a BA in political science and history from Virginia Tech, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a JD from the University of Virginia.

Lana joined AMC in May 2014. Prior to joining AMC, Lana worked as a Program Assistant with the IFC Telecom, Media and Technology Department. She has over 17 years of experience in office management and administration of which eight years has been with the World Bank Group. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Lana worked as a Personal Assistant with the London Borough of Wandsworth Council, London.

 

Lana holds an HND in Office Administration from the Alliance Francaise d’Accra.

Lonika joined AMC in June 2016. Prior to joining AMC, Lonika was a Team Assistant with the IFC Infrastructure and Natural Resources Group in New Delhi, and with the Environment Corporate and Social Governance team. She has worked at IFC for the past six years. In her roles at IFC, she handled a mix of administrative and portfolio work. Prior to joining IFC, Lonika worked for American Airlines where she managed extensive client interactions linked to ground and security operations.

Prior to joining AMC in 2016, Igor held several administrative positions across the World Bank Group including Corporate Planning and Analysis, Office of the Managing Director and World Bank Group CFO, and IBRD Corporate Finance. Igor has more than 19 years in various administrative roles including 4 years as an interpretor/translator in The British Council, World Bank Country Office in Serbia and EC Harris.

 

Igor attended The Faculty of Philology at University of Belgrade.

Sandra joined the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund as a Program Assistant in April 2016. Prior to joining AMC, Sandra spent 10 years at IFC focused on infrastructure. She spent eight of those 10 years working with the IFC InfraVentures Fund. Sandra also has consulting experience, specifically working in outplacement at Drake Beam Morris and serving as a recruitment specialist and clinical counselor at Universidad Javierana.

 

Sandra holds an M.S. in Sports Psychology from Springfield College and a B.A. in Organizational Psychology from Universidad Javierana in Cali, Colombia.

Ramita joined AMC in October 2015. Prior to joining AMC, Ramita lead the Program Management Office for the Finance IT unit within the World Bank Group Information Technology Solutions VPU. In this role, she oversaw technology strategy development, program and project management, IT governance, and client relationship management to ensure full alignment of business and IT priorities in the finance domain. Ramita also spent 10 years developing Finance IT solutions in SAP.

 

Ramita holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Information Systems from George Mason University.

Fiona joined the AMC in 2009.  She has over 20 years’ global experience focused on HR strategies including, recruitment, mobility, performance management, pay and rewards, leadership development and training in the U.S. Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.  Fiona previously worked with the HR team at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and law firms in the US and UK.

 

Fiona is a graduate from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Claire Medina has been part of the AMC Team since January 2010.  Claire joined the World Bank Group in 1993 as a bilingual assistant with the Global Environment Facility before moving to the International Finance Corporation where she worked in diverse areas: Sub-Saharan Africa, Office of the Executive Vice President, Private Equity Funds, Environment & Social Sustainability, and Business Advisory Services.  Prior to this, Claire worked in the marketing department of Colgate Palmolive France.

 

Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts in Languages and a diploma of translation/interpretation.  She is originally from France.

Chau joined AMC in September 2013 as a Program Assistant with the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund. In January 2016, she joined the Client Relations team at AMC. Prior to joining AMC, Chau was a Program Assistant in IFC’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) in Washington, DC. She has previously worked as a Market Research Analyst in the Investor Relations Department at Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation) in McLean, Virginia.

 

Chau holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California in Irvine, California and an MA in International Affairs from American University in Washington, DC.

Babita joined AMC in January 2011. Babita joined IFC in April 1995 where she worked at the front office of the Sub-Saharan Africa department. In December 1995 she moved to the Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa department and from there to the Southern Europe & Central Asia (SECA) Department. During this time she provided assistance to the Directors office and was the back-up for the SECA HR Officer. In July 2002, Babita moved to Global Financial Markets where she provided administrative and secretarial support to the Associate Director, Global Financial Markets-Portfolio & Equity Team.

 

Babita holds a degree in Intermediate of Arts and Psychology.
